Gdynia-Kosakowo Airport
  1. GDYNIA

Feel good in #Gdynia!

You are at Open’er, you are in Gdynia (#WGDYNI!) A city that pulsates with good energy, hospitality, and stays open to every visitor, but at the same time does not forget about its own residents – as it is here, where the happiest Poles live. And obviously this synergy works! The vitality of Gdynia, still developing and still on the windward side, can be contagious. Some have been returning to Gdynia for years to feel its vibrancy, diversity and openness.

It was that openness to the new and the vision of the authorities of the post-war, reborn Poland that turned a fishing village into a city that continues to draw on its greatest asset – access to the sea. Along with the builders who arrived to create “the city out of the sea and dreams”, came sailors from all corners of the world, sharing their cultures, traditions and flavours. Some settled here for good, others sailed on to other ports, to tell the tale of the city pressing towards the future and its proud residents. The Gdynia of yesterday and today is a melting pot of cultures and cuisines, a gateway to the great world, but also a city where the world feels at home.

You can feel this closeness to the sea when strolling around the city centre or along the Seaside Boulevard, admiring the sailing ships in Kościuszko Square or seeking a bit of a cool down after the energetic Open’er concerts at the Babie Doły beach. In Gdynia Orłowo, walking on the wooden pier or along the coastline, you can admire the cliff and the beauty of nature, but also its force – every few years the sea encroaches inland and claims a new piece of land. Every now and then human tries to reclaim it and repair the damage so the residents and visitors can enjoy the scenery.

The residents of Gdynia truly benefit from what is not visible to the eye – clean air. They also pride themselves on the fact that you can reach the forest from any point in the city in no more than 15 minutes, while forested areas, which can also be explored by bike, account for 46 per cent of the city’s land.

On top of the sensations pleasing the eye and ear, Gdynia offers an unforgettable culinary experience, where flavours from around the world come together. So let’s taste life, let’s celebrate it in Gdynia! Take selfies, photos and videos with the caption #WGDYNI and send them out into the world! Let others know that you can feel good #WGDYNI!
